Its bolt, nut and cotter pin assembly helps resist accidental release, making the G-2140 suitable for permanent assemblies, repeated lifting cycles and critical rigging systems.
The G-2140 features quenched and tempered alloy construction and meets the performance requirements of Grade 8 shackles. Working Load Limits are permanently marked on every shackle, while larger capacities incorporate enhanced inspection, traceability and certification provisions for major industrial, offshore and engineered lifting applications.
The Crosby G-2140 is commonly selected for heavy crane service, offshore lifting, mining, energy, shipbuilding, heavy fabrication and engineered lifting systems. Design factor varies by capacity: 4.5:1 for 2 through 21 tons, 5.4:1 for 30 through 175 tons, and 4:1 for 200 through 400 tons. Maximum proof load is two times the Working Load Limit. Sizes 3-1/2 inches and larger are furnished with round-head bolts with a handle. Working Load Limits may be reduced in side-loading applications.
